Tuna Canyon Main Entrance Trail provides access to Big Rock Motorway Trail, Budwood Motorway, Hearst Tank Motorway and Big Rock Lateral in Tuna Canyon Park. From the PCH, head north on Topanga Canyon Blvd. approx. 4 miles. Turn left (south) onto Fernwood-Pacific, and travel several winding miles up through the community to the ridgeline.

Just find a place to pull up and park. The trail begins on the south side of La Tuna Canyon Road, 1.2 miles west of the 210 freeway. Look for the big, brown Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy sign marking the start of the trail. The park entrance can be tricky to find: After 2.3 miles on Tuna Canyon Road, the entrance appears at a junction with an unmarked fire road that’s known as Big Rock Motorway. Parking is available on the side of Tuna Canyon Rd. Hike on Big Rock Motorway for 0.2 mile until you reach an unmarked T-junction; here, turn left and hike 0.5 mile to the summit.
